Cecilia Qingyu Cheng

Cecilia Cheng is a filmmaker and casting professional from Wuhan, China, currently based in New York and studying Film & Television at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Her work explores human relationships, identity, memory, and the quiet emotions that shape our lives through intimate, character-driven storytelling.

Beyond filmmaking, Cecilia finds inspiration in music, singing, and video games, mediums that, like cinema, have the power to tell stories and evoke emotion. She believes storytelling exists in many forms, and these experiences continually shape the way she approaches film. Through both directing and casting, she is passionate about creating authentic stories that foster empathy and human connection.
